Platform terms
Between you and NOWAITN Corporation. Written to be read — if a clause here is unclear, that is our problem to fix, so tell us.
What the service fee pays for
- •Secure card processing set up and run for you — cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, with no merchant account of your own to open.
- •Quotes, deposits and invoices, with the balance tracked against the contract instead of a spreadsheet.
- •Automatic client updates as the contract is quoted, scheduled, covered and invoiced.
- •Your page on patroln.com and the quote requests it brings in.
- •Ongoing platform, support and upkeep.
Patroln is a software platform. We are not a security provider. We do not supply, employ, license, screen, train, direct or supervise security officers, and we are not a security agency, private patrol operator or guard company under the law of any state. You contract directly with your own clients, and the officers, the licensing, the screening, the training, the supervision, the insurance and the conduct of the work are yours.
We do not vet, endorse, guarantee or recommend the businesses listed on patroln.com. We do not verify guard licences and we do not run background checks. Licence numbers, expiry dates, insurance carriers and bonded status shown on a company page are supplied by that company and are presented exactly as they gave them to us. Confirming that a company and every officer it assigns is currently licensed for the work is your responsibility, and the client’s — never ours.
Any licence-expiry reminder, certification record or coverage warning the platform shows you is a convenience built on the dates you entered. It is not a compliance service and it is not legal advice. A reminder that fails to appear does not make an expired licence our responsibility.
When a client pays you through Patroln, two amounts are deducted automatically at the time of payment: a platform service fee of 7% of the payment, and a processing allowance of 2.9% + $0.30 per charge, which covers the card-processing cost the platform is billed for on your charge. The remainder is transferred to your own connected bank account.
Worked example. On a $4,000.00 monthly service invoice: $280.00 platform service fee (7%) and $116.30 processing allowance (2.9% + $0.30) are deducted, and $3,603.70 is transferred to your own account.
There is no subscription, no per-seat licence and no minimum. In a month where no client pays you through Patroln, you are billed nothing.
Payouts go to a Stripe account in your business name that you connect and control. Payout timing is set by Stripe and your bank, not by us.
If you refund a client, the platform service fee on that payment is returned to you. The processing allowance is not, because the card networks do not return the processing cost of a refunded charge to the platform.
Chargebacks and disputes on your charges are yours. We will give you the records we hold to help you contest one.
Your client records, site and shift history, officer records and documents are yours. You can export them at any time, and closing your account does not entitle us to keep using them.
If these terms change materially we will show you the new version and ask you to accept it before your next payment. Your prior acceptance stays valid through any grace period stated at the time, so a change never interrupts a contract in progress.
